In a statement posted on its official social media handle, the NC said its proposed demonstrations would focus on what it described as key pending issues concerning Jammu and Kashmir.

The party said its demands included constitutional guarantees, restoration of statehood to Jammu and Kashmir, clearance of the reservation file and justice for the people of the Union Territory.

“The mandate of the people of Jammu & Kashmir is not a blank cheque. It must be respected, not taken for granted,” the party said.

The NC said the protests would be held peacefully and called for accountability over promises made by the Union Government in Parliament and before the Supreme Court.

The announcement comes amid the NC’s continued demand for restoration of statehood and safeguards for the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
