Authorities have identified all recipients of these cross-border calls and have called them in for questioning to determine the nature of their conversations before taking further action. In line with this, the Special Investigation Unit (SIU) of Kishtwar conducted raids on the residences of six militants operating from Pakistan and PaK.

As per reports in the media, official sources have disclosed that the police have almost completed the necessary procedures for attaching the properties of 250 militants from Doda, Kishtwar, and Ramban districts. The raids conducted by the SIU serve as a prelude to the seizure of these assets. The seizure will adhere to the new rules set by the Union Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) and the Jammu and Kashmir administration.

The intercepted calls made by militants from Doda, Kishtwar, and Ramban operating from Pakistan and PaK were directed at local youths in these three districts. All the targeted youths have been identified, with some already questioned and others called in for interrogation regarding the content of the militants’ messages.

It has been reported that militants operating from Pakistan and PaK have been attempting to establish contact with the youth in these three districts in order to revive militancy.

In a separate development, the SIU Kishtwar conducted raids on the houses of six militants across various locations in Kishtwar district as part of a militancy funding case. Led by DySP Vishal Sharma, six SIU teams, along with a Magistrate, carried out the raids under the supervision of SSP Kishtwar Khalil Poswal, acting under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA). House search warrants were obtained from an NIA court in Jammu for these operations.

The raids targeted the residences of Manzoor Ahmed alias Tahir Inqalabi, Nazir Ahmed alias Shaheen, Shabir Ahmed alias Junaid, Mohd Iqbal Rishi alias Muzamil Ansari, Mohd Amin Bhatt, and Mohd Iqbal alias Bilal, who are currently operating from Pakistan. The collected evidence will be investigated for potential involvement in anti-national activities and militancy.

These searches were carried out with the aim of dismantling the militant ecosystem in the district and cracking down on Over-Ground Workers (OGWs) and militant supporters.

Earlier, a special NIA court in Jammu issued non-bailable warrants against 23 militants from Kishtwar operating from across the border. Prior to this, similar warrants were issued against 13 militants.
