SRINAGAR: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah held a public outreach programme at the Srinagar Raabita office on Friday, where he interacted with several delegations and individuals who raised various public grievances and demands.

The interaction follows a similar outreach held at the Jammu Raabita office on Thursday. Citizens and representatives from multiple sectors met the Chief Minister, highlighting region-specific challenges and issues affecting different communities.
Prof Iqbal S Hasnain, Padma Shri awardee and Member of the Board of Trustees at the National University of Science and Technology, Muscat, presented his book Fault Lines in the Faith to the Chief Minister. Prof Hasnain is also a member of the Executive Committee of Hamdard University and the Indian Mountaineering Foundation, and is the former Pro-Chancellor of Jamia Hamdard.
Javid Ahmad Tenga, President of the Kashmir Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI), discussed trade-related matters with the Chief Minister and shared concerns regarding the local business environment.
A delegation of international martial arts players from Jammu and Kashmir sought support for developing sporting talent and emphasised the need for government-backed opportunities at the global level.
Representatives from the Kashmir Labour Union’s Federation raised concerns about the Jammu and Kashmir Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board (JKBOCWWB). They urged the government to expedite the appointment of the Board’s chairman and ensure timely disbursal of welfare funds to construction workers.
Delegations from Beerwah, Inderwal, Baramulla, and other areas apprised the Chief Minister of local developmental issues. Minority community representatives also met him and placed their demands.
The Chief Minister assured all delegations that their concerns would be examined on priority, reiterating the government’s commitment to inclusive and responsive governance.
