Amid tension on LoC after the cross firing between Indian and Pakistani troops, trade between the divided parts of erstwhile Jammu and Kashmir is going on. In Uri sector, three civilians lost their lives a day before but at Chakan-Da-Bagh crossing point a trade worth over Rs.1.77 crore was recorded.

Goods worth over Rs 1.77 crore were traded across the Line of Control (LoC) between Pakistani Administered Kashmir (PaK) and Jammu and Kashmir at Chakan-Da-Bagh crossing point, official sources said. As many as 15 trucks rolled out from the Trade Facilitation Centre (TFC) to PaK, they said, adding these trucks carried bananas, onions, cumin and coriander worth Rs 37,87,130.

From PaK, 17 trucks carrying bags of dry dates, dry grapes, almonds, mangoes and herbs worth Rs 1,39,33,482 entered this side, official sources said. Officials from both sides monitored transportation of these goods twice during the day.
