SRINAGAR: Sartaj Aziz, adviser to Pakistan Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs has condemned the killing of eight Kashmiri youth on Sunday, Pakistani newspapers quoted APP, Pakistan’s official news agency, said.

In a statement, the report said, Aziz has urged the international community to force India to put an immediate end to the ongoing bloodshed of innocent Kashmiris and hold a transparent, free and fair plebiscite under the auspices of UN to ascertain the wishes of Kashmiris.

“India continued to deny fundamental human rights to the people of occupied Kashmir with scant respect for life,” the statement quoting Aziz saying. “The continuing Indian brutalities and unprecedented violence are crimes against humanity.”

The adviser said that despite Indian state terrorism and repression the steadfast resolve displayed by Kashmiris sends a clear message that they remain undeterred in their goal for the realisation of the right to self-determination.

Eight civilians were killed and nearly 100 others injured on Sunday in the first of two round Lok Sabha bye-elections in Kashmir. The second phase involving south Kashmir is scheduled for Wednesday.
