The address is expected to outline the government’s assessment of the rapidly evolving situation and the measures being taken to safeguard national interests.

This comes after a high-level review by the Cabinet Committee on Security, where the Prime Minister and senior ministers evaluated the potential effects of the conflict on key sectors, including energy, fertilisers, and supply chains.

Officials stated that the government is closely monitoring global market disruptions, particularly crude oil supplies, given India’s heavy reliance on West Asia for energy imports.

During the parliamentary address, the Prime Minister is likely to detail contingency measures aimed at mitigating economic fallout and ensuring stability in essential commodities.

The conflict has raised concerns about inflationary pressures and possible supply shortages, prompting efforts to diversify import sources and strengthen domestic preparedness.

India has also been actively engaging with global leaders and regional stakeholders, emphasising the need for dialogue and diplomatic solutions to prevent further escalation.

The Prime Minister is expected to reiterate India’s commitment to maintaining peace, protecting civilian lives, and ensuring the security of critical trade routes in the region.
