Officials said over 300 kilograms of contraband substances were seized in multiple operations conducted across the district under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
In parallel enforcement action, authorities attached properties in 14 cases linked to drug trafficking, valued at around Rs 10 crore. In two separate cases, properties worth approximately Rs 3.5 crore, allegedly acquired through narcotics proceeds, were demolished.
Police also destroyed illegal narcotic cultivation spread over nearly 300 marlas of land and disposed of around 1,084 kilograms of narcotic substances in accordance with legal procedures. Among those arrested were one female drug peddler and two female cultivators, while two government employees have also been found involved, with legal proceedings initiated against them.
In preventive measures, authorities invoked detention laws against 119 drug peddlers and conducted 80 Narcotic Crime Prevention Operations (CASOs) across the district. In addition, 13 driving licences and nine registration certificates were cancelled in cases linked to drug-related offences.
District Police, in coordination with allied departments, inspected 45 medical shops, detecting 15 violations leading to legal action. Two narcotic hideouts were also unearthed during the drive.
To strengthen investigation capacity, 50 investigating officers handling NDPS cases were provided specialised training on legal procedures and evidence handling.
Police reiterated their commitment to eradicating the drug menace and urged the public, particularly youth, to cooperate in identifying and reporting drug-related activities, stating that community support remains crucial in the fight against narcotics.
