SRINAGAR: Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw on Tuesday unveiled RailOne- a unified mobile application designed to serve as a one-stop digital hub for all passenger-related services across Indian Railways.
The launch took place during the 40th Foundation Day celebrations of the Centre for Railway Information Systems (CRIS), marks a pivotal shift in how passengers interact with railway services, consolidating multiple apps and functionalities into one seamless platform.
Described as a pioneering railway application, RailOne brings together a range of services under one roof, including reserved and unreserved ticket booking, platform tickets, train enquiries, PNR status, and journey planning. The app also incorporates key features such as Rail Madad Services for grievance redressal, Food on Train meal booking, and other targeting both passenger and logistics users.
According to ministry of Railways, the app’s core focus is enhancing user experience through a clean and intuitive interface, with service integrations designed to offer users a comprehensive and clutter-free digital experience.
PTI also reported that among the standout features is a single sign-on (SSO) system, eliminating the need for multiple credentials. Users can log in using their existing credentials from apps like RailConnect or UTS on Mobile, significantly reducing the need for multiple downloads and apps.
To enhance accessibility and security, RailOne offers biometric authentication numeric PIN logins, and a streamlined registration process requiring minimal personal information. For casual users, Guest Access is also available via mobile number and OTP, allowing quick access to enquiry services without full registration.
Railway sources indicate the app is part of a broader digital modernization strategy, positioning Indian Railways as a tech-forward, user-centric transport system ready to meet the demands of the 21st-century traveler.
