JAMMU: In a strong gesture of solidarity and compassion, employees of the State Bank of India (SBI) Chandigarh Circle have donated Rs 1.55 crore to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund to assist families affected by the recent floods in Jammu and Kashmir.
The contribution, made voluntarily by officers and staff across the circle, reflects the bank employees’ deep commitment to humanitarian causes and their readiness to support communities in distress.
The Chandigarh Circle of SBI covers Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, and Ladakh. The collected funds will be directed towards relief and rehabilitation measures for those hit hardest by the floods, helping families rebuild their lives.
Speaking about the initiative, Jayant Mani, Deputy General Manager (Jammu), SBI, said the gesture was part of the bank’s enduring commitment to serve society beyond its financial role. “SBI has always been more than just a bank — we are an integral part of the community we serve. This contribution reflects the empathy and sense of responsibility our employees feel towards the people of Jammu and Kashmir,” he said.
