According to officials, the incidents were recorded between 10 am on December 22 and 10 am on December 23 in Srinagar, Bandipora, Kupwara, Kulgam and Ganderbal districts. Firefighters responded promptly to all distress calls and managed to control the blazes before they could spread further.

In Srinagar, a fire broke out in a garbage compound at Chanapora, which was extinguished before it posed a threat to nearby structures. Another incident was reported from Fateh Kadal, where a residential house caught fire, damaging the attic portion. Fire personnel contained the blaze in time, preventing damage to adjoining buildings.

In Bandipora’s Noor Colony, one residential house was affected in a fire incident, while in Kupwara district, two separate incidents were reported. A fire damaged two residential quarters inside the 168 MH Army Camp, while another blaze at Manchattir in the Chowkibal area damaged two residential houses. Officials said a coordinated response helped prevent further losses in both cases.

Meanwhile, a residential house was damaged in a fire incident at Nadimarg in Kulgam district, and in Ganderbal’s Dikbagh area of Nunner, a Chinar tree caught fire and was later extinguished by fire personnel.
