Speaking to reporters in Pahalgam, Abdullah said it has been eight months since the Jammu and Kashmir government was formed. “I am hopeful that when statehood is restored, we will also get the administrative powers essential for true governance,” he said.

He added that the party’s stand remains unchanged and they are waiting patiently for the restoration of statehood. “But if there are unnecessary delays, we will have no option but to go to the Supreme Court,” he warned.

“We are committed to a democratic and peaceful struggle, but at the same time, we will not stay silent if our basic political rights continue to be denied,” Abdullah said.

On the ongoing tensions in the Middle East, he appealed for wisdom and restraint. “I pray that God gives wisdom to both Iran and Israel. This conflict can only be solved through peace,” he said, urging global leaders to push for dialogue.

He also appealed to former US President Donald Trump to call for peace between the two nations. (KNO)
