Day after a huge howl of Brown Sugar was allegedly seized from a Truck of Pakistan administered Kashmir (PaK), authorities have decided to stop the cross LoC trade from Uri Salamabad route from Sunday.

“The Pakistan Administered Kashmir authorities have not only refused to take their 29 vehicles from our side nor they are allowing our 25 vehicles to return so the trade automatically stands suspended,” Deputy Inspector General, north Kashmir, JP Singh told media persons in Baramulla on Saturday.

He added that the authorities from this side are in a close touch with their counterparts of PaK since a huge quantity of Brown Sugar was seized  a day before but there nothing has come out so for.

Pertinently police on Friday claimed seizing of Brown sugar worth over Rs 100 Crores from a truck coming from Pakistan Administered Kashmir (PaK) to Uri.

Police said that it found 114 packets of brown sugar weighing almost a kilogram each, from one of the trucks that came from PaK bearing number RIS-2137 of Al- Fajar Company.

Reports said that when the truck reached Salamabad Uri check-point, it was routinely checked and the police found large number of mysterious packets in one of the almond bags. The truck stand was cordoned and no one was allowed to move outside the premises till senior officials of police, crime branch and Intelligence Agencies reached the spot.
