SRINAGAR: As many as 54 young participants from Jammu and Kashmir will be part of a select group of 3,000 youth from across India and abroad who will interact with Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the Viksit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue 2026 in New Delhi on January 12.
The selected youth will present their ideas and vision before the Prime Minister across 10 thematic tracks, offering innovative, youth-driven solutions on issues of national importance. The concluding session of the dialogue will be held at Bharat Mandapam on National Youth Day, marking the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda.
Prior to the main event, participants from JK and Ladakh held preliminary interactions with Union Minister of State in the Prime Minister’s Office, Jitendra Singh, in New Delhi. Another round of discussions with the Minister is scheduled ahead of the Prime Minister’s interaction.
Officials said the youth representatives, who arrived in the national capital on Friday, were selected through a rigorous, merit-based three-stage process involving a nationwide online quiz, an essay competition and state-level vision presentations.
During the programme, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will also release an essay compilation featuring selected writings of the participants on India’s development agenda and long-term nation-building goals.
An official statement from the Prime Minister’s Office said the Viksit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue aims to provide a structured platform for meaningful engagement between the country’s youth and national leadership, in line with the Prime Minister’s call to involve one lakh young people in nation-building without political affiliations.
The dialogue, being held from January 9 to 12, has seen participation of over 50 lakh youth at various stages nationwide. The second edition features new initiatives such as Design for Bharat, Tech for Viksit Bharat Hack for a Social Cause, expanded thematic sessions and international participation, further broadening its reach and impact.
