Minister for Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, Ali Mohammad Sagar today emphasized for maintaining the tempo of developmental projects in district Ganderbal and said several initiatives are in pipeline to usher progress and prosperity besides making Ganderbal a model for other districts of the state.

As per a statement the Minister was addressing a public gathering at Ganderbal today. He said that Rs 36 crore is being utilized for execution of 4-lane road project from Srinagar Pandach to Ganderbal. He said that construction work on 200 bedded hospital in the district is going on round the clock to provide better health care facilities to the people and Rs 52.56 crore are being spent on the project.

Besides, 8 more developmental projects have been taken in hand which include setting up of Central University in the district.

Appealing people to strengthen hands of government, the Minister has said that vested interests should not succeed in their nefarious designs to damage the peaceful atmosphere of the state and every individual should work for the progress and prosperity of the state.

Assuring unemployed youth of the state of fast track recruitment, the Minister has said that government is committed to solve unemployment crisis of the state and several initiatives have been taken already by the government.

Several deputations called on the Minister and apprised him about the problems confronting them. The Minister assured that their genuine problems will be solved on priority.

Later, Sagar inspected the work under construction on the meeting Hall complex in Ganderbal being constructed at a cost of Rs 3.15 crore. He was informed that the work will be completed shortly.

Later, the Minister presided over an officers meeting in Ganderbal, convened to review the pace of Progress registered on various developmental projects.

The District Development Commissioner, Ganderbal informed the Minister that Rs 44.56 crore was spent during last fiscal. In R&B sector, Rs 14.70 crore, Rs 4.35 crore in Irrigation and Rs 2.22 crore in Health Sector were spent during the period.

The Minister directed for speeding up the pace of developmental works for providing benefit of various schemes to the people.
