SRINAGAR: The National Conference (NC) legislature party meeting on Wednesday took an unusual turn after Chief Minister Omar Abdullah led party legislators and supporting Independent MLAs to an undisclosed location for discussions.
The development triggered speculation in political circles following reports that the venue had been changed at the last minute. However, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah rejected these claims in a post on X, stating that the meeting had always been planned as an off-site exercise.
I’m sorry to disappoint you but it has NOT “been shifted at the last moment”. It was always my intention to conduct this meeting off-site and all arrangements have been made, days in advance, at the location originally chosen by me. https://t.co/CKZJEPO5pi

Adding to the curiosity surrounding the event, NC MLA Bashir Ahmad Veeri posted a photograph on X showing Omar Abdullah and other legislators travelling in a tempo traveller, captioning it: “Crossed Shalimar for unknown destination!”
