SRINAGAR: The Central Crime Branch (CCB) has arrested two Tanzanian nationals in Bengaluru in connection with separate drug trafficking cases, seizing 10kg of MDMA and 8kg of hydro ganja, with an estimated street value of over Rs 28 crore, the Times of India reported.
Officials told the Times of India that the seizure is among the largest in recent months, highlighting an active international narcotics supply chain operating in the city.
The accused have been identified as Nancy Omary Lawa, 25, a hairstylist residing in Sampigehalli, and Emmanuel Arinze, 28, a repeat offender living in Siddapura near Jayanagar. Nancy, who arrived in India on a tourist visa in 2023, allegedly sourced narcotics from Delhi and sold them locally after befriending local peddlers, police said. Emmanuel, who entered India on a business visa in 2021, was previously arrested for drug trafficking in 2024 but reportedly resumed his activities after securing bail.
Police suspect that both individuals are linked to other foreign nationals and local drug networks. Investigations are ongoing to trace their suppliers and buyers.
