Continuing its expansion in the state of J&K, HDFC Bank Saturday opened two rural branches at Chadura in the district Budgam and Dooru Shahabad branch in South Kashmir’s district Islamabad.

Zubair Iqbal, vice president and Circle Head, J&K, HDFC Bank inaugurated the full-service rural branches in the presence of senior officials of the bank.

According to official statement, the new branches will offer customers world-class banking services under one roof.

“As a leading bank of the country, we are committed to taking world-class banking to the hinterland. With a comprehensive branch network across the country and a bouquet of products for every customer category, we believe that we can make a difference to the lives of the people of this region,” said Mr. Navin Puri, Country Head, Branch Banking, HDFC Bank, speaking from Mumbai.

Speaking on the occasion, Zubair Iqbal, said, “The bank has shown tremendous growth in last 2 years and from 10 branches & 20 ATMs in April 2011, we have increased our network to 56 branches and 150 ATMs. This large scale expansion has generated employment avenues to more than 1000 state subjects. During same time bank has also taken CD ratio to 37 per cent.”

“Bank has also contributed significantly in priority Sector and Agriculture. The focus of the bank is to reach out to the large unbanked segment in the state and provide banking solutions and accessibility to funds. We will take our branch network to 60 by end of March 2013 and ATM network to 160. We are committed to provide world class banking services to our brethren in the state”, he added.
