KPDCL Announces Scheduled Power Shutdowns Across Kashmir

   

SRINAGAR: The Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL) has announced a series of scheduled power shutdowns across multiple parts of Kashmir between June 2 and June 13 to facilitate maintenance works on several 33 kV transmission lines, officials said on Monday.

According to the Chief Engineer, Distribution, KPDCL, the shutdowns will affect electricity supply in several areas of Srinagar, Budgam, Baramulla, Anantnag and adjoining localities on different dates, with most outages scheduled between 9 am and 3 pm.

On June 2, power supply will remain affected in areas including Bagh-i-Mehtab, Gopalpora, Mochuwa, Kralpora, Achabal, Khundroo, Shangus, Shamsipora, Ashajipora, Dialgam and Brenwar due to maintenance works on Rawalpora-Bagh-i-Mehtab-Budshah Nagar, Mattan-Achabal, Shamsipora tapline, Wanpoh-Ashajipora/Malaknag and Brenwar transmission lines.

On June 3, outages will impact Chanapora, Lalnagar, Nowgam, Natipora, Lasjan and parts of Kunzer and Magam due to shutdowns of Rawalpora-Chanapora, Pampore-Lasjan tapline and Magam-Kongamdara lines.

Power supply to JVC Hospital, Children’s Hospital, Hajj House, Qammerwari, Bemina Court Complex and adjoining areas will remain disrupted on June 4 owing to shutdowns on Bemina JVC and Bemina I and II lines, while Rakhi-Arth and Sebdan will also face outages.

On June 5, areas including Sanoor, Malpora, Shariefabad, Soibugh and Wadwan will witness power interruptions due to maintenance of Sanoor tapline and Shariefabad-Wadwan line.

On June 7, electricity supply will remain suspended in Narbal, Mazhama, Lawaypora, Shalteng, Mujgund, BAMK and adjoining localities due to shutdowns on Shariefabad-HMT, HMT-Narbal and GIS Khanyar-BAMK lines.

Several downtown Srinagar areas, including Nowhatta, Rajouri Kadal, Nawa Kadal, Safakadal and adjoining localities, will witness outages on June 9 due to shutdowns of SH Pora, Kawdara and Safakadal lines.

KPDCL has advised consumers in affected areas to make necessary arrangements and said the shutdowns are essential for carrying out system maintenance and strengthening power infrastructure.
