SRINAGAR: The National Testing Agency (NTA) on Saturday dismissed allegations circulating on social media and messaging platforms claiming a leak, advance access, or sale of the NEET (UG) 2026 re-examination question paper, describing them as false and misleading.
In a statement shared on X, the agency said it had observed messages making such claims and clarified that these were “false, fraudulent and intended to mislead”. It further stated that the content was being propagated by organised cheating networks seeking to exploit the concerns of candidates and their families by offering fabricated question papers in exchange for money.
The NTA reiterated that the integrity of the examination process remains fully intact, adding that all necessary safeguards are in place to ensure a fair and secure conduct of the examination.
It said it is actively identifying and reporting such accounts, channels and content to social media platforms and cybercrime authorities for prompt removal and action. The agency also confirmed that a formal complaint is being filed with law enforcement agencies, warning that the creation, circulation or forwarding of such material is a punishable offence.
Candidates and parents have been advised not to engage with or share such messages and to rely only on official communication issued through the NTA’s verified platforms.
Reassuring aspirants, the agency urged students to remain focused on their preparation, stating that their performance and hard work remain central to the examination process.
The clarification comes against the backdrop of earlier controversy surrounding NEET-UG, which was conducted on May 3 and later cancelled on May 12 following allegations of a paper leak, with the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) currently probing the matter. A re-test has been scheduled for June 21.
