SRINAGAR: RISE Institute, a coaching centre based in Srinagar, has announced more than 15 selections in the IITs through JEE Advanced 2026, continuing its record of sending students to premier engineering institutions every year since its establishment in 2012.
A notable highlight of this year’s results is the selection of six girls from Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh. The selected candidates include four students from Kashmir—Soliha, Hyfa, Nuha and Ayesha—and two from Kargil in Ladakh, identified as Isma and Parveen.
According to the institute, this marks a significant increase compared to the previous year, when three girls from Kashmir qualified for IITs.
The two selections from Kargil are being seen as significant, given the limited availability of structured competitive exam coaching in the region.
The institute stated that it has now recorded over 1,000 cumulative selections in IITs and NITs since its inception, with students having progressed to institutions including IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Kharagpur, IIT Roorkee, AIIMS, as well as international universities such as Princeton University and the University of Pennsylvania.
RISE Institute was founded by IIT Bombay alumnus Mubeen Masudi along with IIT Kharagpur alumni Salman Shahid and Imbesat Ahmad. The founders have previously stated that the institute was established to expand access to competitive exam preparation in Kashmir.
The institute has also received coverage from national and international media outlets in previous years for its academic outcomes.
Further details regarding individual ranks and course allocations are awaited.
