SRINAGAR: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to address a massive rally at Bakshi Stadium in Srinagar on March 7. During this historic event, he will distribute job letters and engage with beneficiaries of diverse government welfare schemes. Additionally, the Prime Minister is anticipated to unveil new projects and schemes for Jammu and Kashmir, Daily Excelsior reported.

A large crowd is expected to gather to listen to PM Modi fom all parts of the Valley including the Paharis who were recently granted Scheduled Tribe (ST) status, Gujjars and Bakerwals who have been given 10 percent reservation in the UT Assembly, and Other Backward Classes (OBCs) who for the first time got a reservation in Government jobs and educational institutions besides political reservations in Panchayats and Municipalities.

“There is high enthusiasm among various sections of people about the Prime Minister’s rally. The Prime Minister will interact with beneficiaries of the Government schemes via video conferencing from the rally venue in both the Jammu and Kashmir divisions. Modi is also likely to handover appointment letters to the youth,” sources as quoted by Daily Excelsior said.

Meanwhile, Security forces have been put on alert ahead of the visit of Narendra Modi, in Srinagar. The deployment of security personnel has been increased around the renovated Bakshi Stadium with barricades set up for checking the vehicles passing through the venue of PM Modi’s rally.

A high alert has been sounded across Srinagar while police, CRPF and other security agencies are ensuring close synergy to make the rally a smooth event. Even though the Bakshi Stadium will be open for the general public, security has been intensified across the city while frisking may pick up from Monday onwards.

There will be aerial surveillance of the venue and some parts around the venue will also remain under drone surveillance.

This will be the Prime Minister’s first visit to the Kashmir valley after the abrogation of Article 370 in August 2019 and the second visit to the UT in about a fortnight. He visited the Jammu region on February 20 to inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of several development projects worth Rs 32,000 crore and addressed a massive public rally at MA Stadium.

JK Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Ravinder Raina announced that approximately 200,000 individuals will attend Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s rally in Kashmir this week. Raina, speaking in Srinagar, expressed the excitement and joy among Kashmiri people for Modi’s visit after Article 370’s abrogation.
