Officials said Police Station Sangam attached assets valued at nearly Rs 3 crore belonging to Gulam Ahmad Dar, son of Ghulam Mohammad Dar, in connection with FIR No. 14/2026 registered under Section 8/20 of the NDPS Act. The properties include a residential house, land parcels and multiple commercial shops.

Authorities stated that the properties were allegedly acquired through proceeds from narcotics trafficking, leading to attachment proceedings under the relevant legal provisions.

In a separate action, Police Station Nowhatta attached a residential property worth about Rs 1 crore belonging to Mohd Shafi Sheikh, son of the late Mohd Subhan Sheikh, in connection with FIR No. 09/2018 under Sections 8/20 of the NDPS Act. The asset was identified as allegedly having been generated through illegal drug-related activities.

Police said the move is aimed at preventing the concealment, transfer or disposal of illegally acquired property and to weaken the financial base of the drug trade.

Reiterating its commitment to tackling narcotics trafficking, Srinagar Police said action will continue against both offenders and assets linked to drug-related crime under the ongoing anti-drug drive. The public has been urged to support efforts to eliminate substance abuse from society.
