The Minister made the remarks while distributing appointment orders among 25 Contingent Paid Workers (CPWs) of the School Education Department who were regularised as Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS), and promotion orders among 14 Laboratory Assistants elevated as Teachers during a function held at the SCERT Auditorium in Bemina.

Advisor to the Chief Minister Nasir Aslam Wani, Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education Ghulam Hassan Sheikh, Director School Education Kashmir Naseer Ahmad Wani and other senior officials were present on the occasion.

Addressing the gathering, Sakeena Itoo said nearly 3,000 CPWs had been regularised over the past one-and-a-half years, reflecting the government’s efforts to provide job security and career progression to employees.

She said employees form the backbone of institutions and that transparent, merit-based promotions recognise dedication while encouraging greater contribution towards educational growth and public service.

The Minister added that the government is undertaking several reform measures aimed at strengthening educational infrastructure, improving learning outcomes and addressing concerns of teaching and non-teaching staff.

Congratulating the beneficiaries, she urged them to work with dedication and responsibility for the betterment of the education sector and students’ future, while assuring continued initiatives for employee welfare and institutional development.

Speaking on the occasion, Nasir Aslam Wani said several employees had waited for more than 25 years for regularisation and that the government had adopted a phased approach to resolve long-pending cases. He said similar orders had recently been issued in both Jammu and Srinagar.

He added that the government is prioritising the education and healthcare sectors to improve public service delivery and fulfil the legitimate expectations of employees.

Earlier, the Minister and the Advisor also distributed bicycles among meritorious students and students belonging to Below Poverty Line (BPL) families who had excelled in examinations across various classes.
