The attached assets include a double-storey residential house with a boundary wall and 1 kanal 10 marlas of land under Survey No. 365 Min, with a combined estimated value of over ₹1.23 crore.

According to police, the properties belong to Mohammad Ashraf Mir alias Ashu, son of late Farooq Ahmad Mir, a resident of Jamia Qadeem, Sopore, presently residing at Krankshivan Colony, Nageen Bagh-B, Sopore.

The attachment was carried out under Section 68F of the NDPS Act in connection with FIR No. 23/2026 registered at Police Station Sopore. Police said a financial investigation found that the properties had allegedly been acquired using proceeds generated from illicit narcotics trafficking.

The attachment proceedings were conducted in the presence of independent witnesses in accordance with the provisions of the NDPS Act, police said.

Officials said the accused is absconding in the case, and a Hue and Cry Notice as well as a Look Out Notice has already been issued against him. Police added that he is also involved in multiple NDPS cases, indicating his alleged continued involvement in drug trafficking.

The action is part of the ongoing “100-Day Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyaan” aimed at dismantling the financial infrastructure of the narcotics trade. Police said attaching assets allegedly acquired through drug trafficking is intended to deprive offenders of the proceeds of crime and weaken the economic network supporting the illegal drug trade.

Police reiterated its zero-tolerance policy against drug trafficking and said legal as well as financial action against those involved in the narcotics trade would continue.
