The seizure, made from a house in Chhatarpur on November 20 under Operation “Crystal Fortress,” is among the largest recoveries of methamphetamine recorded in Delhi. Investigators said months of surveillance, intelligence inputs, and technical tracking led to the breakthrough against what they described as a well-organised cartel using Delhi as a hub for distribution within India and beyond.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah congratulated the team and said the government was “shattering drug cartels at unprecedented pace” through a coordinated crackdown on narcotics. Posting on X, Shah said the successful raid reflected Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a drug-free India and demonstrated “seamless multi-agency coordination.”

Officials said the arrested individuals include a woman from Nagaland, detained with support of Nagaland Police. The alleged mastermind, believed to be operating from abroad and also wanted in a previous 82.5-kg cocaine case in Delhi, has been identified. Efforts are under way with international partners to secure his deportation.

Preliminary investigation suggests the network relied on a chain of couriers, safe houses, and layered handlers to move synthetic drugs through the capital. Authorities indicated more arrests are likely as the probe continues.

The NCB urged citizens to report drug-related information and said details can be shared through the national narcotics helpline 1933.
