SRINAGAR: The Kashmir Power Development Corporation Limited (KPDCL) and Jammu & Kashmir Power Transmission Corporation Limited (JKPTCL) have announced scheduled power shutdowns in various areas of the Valley to facilitate restoration, maintenance, and stabilisation works on key power lines and grid stations.
According to the Chief Engineer, Distribution, KPDCL, to permanently restore power supply by erecting 13-metre-long ST poles on the 33 KV Budgam–Ichgam line at village Kulbug, shutdown of the said line will be observed on June 11, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 05:00 PM. As a result, the 33/11KV receiving stations at Ichgam, Choon, Kanir, and Hanjura will remain off, affecting power supply to Ichgam, Ichkoot, Choon, Bubagh, Razvain, Kanir, Hushur, Wagam, Zuhama, Hanjoora, Dadompora, and adjoining areas.
Additionally, to carry out branch cutting and other necessary maintenance on the 33 KV Ichgam–NKC Tapline, shutdown will be observed on June 6, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 05:00 PM. During this period, the 33/11KV Receiving Station at NKC will remain off, impacting power supply to the NKC office area.
Furthermore, to repair the tapping frame of the Sainik School Tapline and carry out stabilisation work at Receiving Station Kurhama, shutdown of the 33 KV Badampora–Kurhama line will be observed on June 4, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 04:00 PM. This will affect power supply to Kurhama, Youngpora, Dab, Sainik School, GCET, Safapora, Baroosa, Baba Salina, Rabitar, Kondbal, and nearby areas.
In a separate notice, the Chief Engineer, JKPTCL, has said that maintenance of bus bars and bays at the 480 MVA, 220/132/33 KV Grid Station Delina will necessitate shutdown of the 33 KV Wagoora and Delina lines on June 4, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 03:00 PM. This will affect power supply to Jetty, Khawajabagh, Transit Camp Fatehpora, PHE Jetty, Singhpora, Delina, Kanispora, Sangrama, Nowpora, Boosu, Kreeri, Hard Ichlo, Watergam, Wagoora, Mongam, Sopore Town, Amargarh, Industries, and adjoining areas.
Consumers in the affected areas have been advised to make necessary arrangements and bear with the inconvenience as the works are essential for long-term power reliability and infrastructure improvement.
